The American Classic

BROADWAY

April and May 2010

The 4th annual high school level musical tackled an American classic,  and gave its regards to Broadway!

We almost didn't make it.  Having lost our theatre lease on December 31, 2009, we didn't have a venue to call home.  And a musical is a daunting task when all the pieces are already in place - imagine doing it without a stage.

But, we were beyond lucky and were able to find a new home in time.  Then, we just had to learn the show, move...oh, and build the stage, literally.  But we did!

Students from across the county auditioned in February and began the long journey of turning the written word into a moving, magical production.  Music, choreography, and lines were just part of the journey.

The first weekend in May brought seventeen students (many of whom began as strangers) to the stage as a cohesive team who sang and danced their way through the Roarin' 20's and right down Broadway!

We hope to see everyone again when we begin the journey again - and bring another musical to life.
